Developmental Screenings at Duolingo Treehouse

Many parents and caregivers have questions about their child’s development — whether it’s language, attention, play, or social interactions.

This spring, Duolingo Treehouse and La Escuelita are partnering with the University of Pittsburgh’s Applied Developmental Psychology program to offer optional developmental screenings for young children.

These screenings use the Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ), a widely used tool that helps caregivers learn more about how children are growing and developing.

During the screening, trained Pitt students will talk with caregivers about their child’s development and answer questions in a supportive, conversational way.

If a family is interested, they may also receive information about community resources that support early childhood development.

Important to know

  • Screenings are optional

  • Screenings are not diagnostic

  • Families participate only if they choose to

Our goal is simply to create another opportunity for families to learn, ask questions, and access resources if helpful.
